Tearfund advocates an option for the poor (as liberation theology would describe it) expressed in numerous places around the globe, where they work with those in poverty and need - including UK.
There is a helpful article in TearTimes(Autumn 2011 'Living out the whole gospel') in which Amy Church writes about Integral Mission thus :
"When Jesus connected with people, he changed their lives completely. And he's still doing it today through- his Spirit and through us his church. Integral mission isn't a 'new concept'. It's following Jesus, answering God's call to love one another completely in every aspect of our lives. It's us, the church, joining God's mission to build his kingdom on earth - a natural out-flowing of who we are as children of God".
And later in the same article ---
"Called to integral mission Neither do we all have to become overseas 'missionaries', because integral mission is as relevant to us here in the UK as it is to Tearfund's partners around the world. 'Every church is called to share in Cod's mission... beginning in its own "Jerusalem",' says theologian Rene Padilla, referencing Acts 1:8. Integral mission simply calls us to be who we are in Christ. You don't have to be familiar with the term 'integral mission' to do it; you just have to be familiar with God., and to follow his command to love him, and others, with everything you have".
